WASHINGTON— GreenLatinos announced its launch of its 2025–2028 Strategic Plan this week, outlining a clear, multi-year roadmap to build Latino environmental power and advance environmental justice across the United States. Developed through months of consultation with members and partners, the plan establishes the organization’s most expansive and coordinated strategy to date.
Top-Line Highlights:
• New Three-Year Plan: A coordinated, national strategy to strengthen Latino leadership in climate and environmental justice policy.
• Community Infrastructure Buildout: Significant investment in frontline communities’ capacity, training, and advocacy strength.
• Expanded Convening Footprint: More national, regional, and local convenings to align strategy, accelerate policy impact, and elevate local leaders.
• Policy and Narrative Influence: A sharpened focus on shaping federal, state, and local climate policy while uplifting lived-experience expertise.
• Movement-Wide Alignment: A multi-year roadmap grounded in the values of comunidad, justice, culture, collective action, and accountability.
The new plan arrives at a key moment. After a politically volatile year, recent election outcomes indicate growing public support for climate action, clean air and water protections, and environmental justice commitments. GreenLatinos is positioning its national network to convert this momentum into durable, community-driven impact.
“Our comunidad has shown time and again that they want clean air, clean water, climate action, and environmental justice,” said Mark Magaña, presidente fundador y director ejecutivo de GreenLatinos. “This plan is our most ambitious effort yet to meet that demand. It expands the convening spaces where strategy is shaped, strengthens the infrastructure of frontline communities, and ensures that Latino voices lead national climate conversations. This is how we build the environmental future our communities deserve.”
The GreenLatinos 2025–2028 Strategic Plan centers on three long-term strategies:
• Expanding Convening Power: Scaling national summits, regional gatherings, and local coalitions to build shared strategy and accelerate policy wins.
• Strengthening Community Capacity: Increasing resources, technical assistance, and partnership support for frontline communities disproportionately affected by pollution and climate impacts.
• Elevating Latino Expertise: Coordinating the knowledge, lived experience, and leadership of GreenLatinos members to influence federal, state, and local decision-making.
The plan also outlines a commitment to deeper collaboration with allied organizations, lawmakers, researchers, and cultural leaders as the country moves toward the 2026 election cycle and faces mounting environmental and climate challenges.
