The GreenLatinos Advocacy Training Series is a series of interactive webinars and workshops designed to build the capacity of Latino/a/e leaders, frontline advocates, and community members to engage effectively in policy and advocacy work.
This series will uplift voices and defend the rights of vulnerable communities in the face of escalating threats from the current administration, including the slashing of federal environmental funding and protections, increased immigration raids, and tactics of fear and intimidation.
Every session will provide Spanish interpretation and translated One-Pagers into Spanish. At the end of the training series, participants will be equipped to visit their representatives’ district offices. The Senate will be in their districts from October 13th to 17th, and the House from October 12th to 19th.
State of Nuestro Clima is part of UPROSE’s Climate Justice Lives Here series during New York Climate Week. This all-day gathering will feature panels, roundtables, art, and community celebration — culminating in the GreenLatinos LIVE! Awards during our Climate Cocktails.
Join us for our Fall Encuentro, el otono y arsenico en arroz! Our Sustainable Communities Program is about addressing those things that contribute to equitable and environmentally sustainable communities we live, work, and play in. As we address environmental issues such as poor air quality due to carbon emission, access to equitable renewable energy resources such as wind and solar energy we also look at the built environment and increasingly at the foods that we have access to! One of my favorite memories of fall as a child was eating a warm bowl of arroz con leche y canale that my abuela would make for us as a treat! That brings us to the hot topic of our Encuentro Arroz! GreenLatinos was an anchor partner that contributed to this study on arsenic in rice.
