White House Chair Brenda Mallory, Jacob Johns Kick Off GreenLatinos Launch of National Three-Day Winter Summit

GreenLatinos’ first day of the 2021-2022 National Winter Summit is here! We are bringing together a diverse set of Latino community leaders to build long-term solutions to climate change and sustain community organizing. This three-day Summit will focus on policy advocacy, grassroots mobilization, and national Latino/a/x leadership development. The National Winter Summit programming today features a special focus on important policy priorities. The 2021-2024 GreenLatinos Strategic Plan outlines our priorities and we work on these to move forward collective addressing of issues impacting Latinos across the continent.   • 3:00 - 4:00pm EST: GreenLatinos Policy Priority: Clean Transportation

  • 3:30 - 4:30pm EST: GreenLatinos Policy Priority: Colorado State Program

  • 4:00 - 5:00pm EST: GreenLatinos Policy Priority: Climate Change and Clean Air

  • 4:30 - 5:30pm EST: GreenLatinos Policy Priority: Water Equity5:30 - 6:30pm EST: Exploring identity and culture entre nuestra comunidad

Tomorrow, the focus shifts from our Policy Priorities and we begin to look towards how our Policy Priorities translate into strategies to develop issues that need Federal attention. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from and interact with key elected officials, meet one another more fully, and network with others interested in driving the national conversation on Latino Environmental Justice issues.  We’ll round out the last part of the day with a spoken word performance from a rising star, Leah V Speaks. You’re going to love it.

GreenLatinos 2021-2022 Winter National Summit is our signature convening amplifying voices of people most affected by climate change alongside environmental policy leaders through providing activists, advocates, and organizers opportunities to strategize and network while maintaining a vigilantly intersectional focus on racial, social, economic, and environmental justice.

La reunión GreenLatinos 2021-2022 Winter National Summit es nuestra reunión más importante para amplificar las voces de las personas más impactadas por el cambio climático junto con líderes de política ambiental, proporcionando activistas defensores, y organizadores oportunidades para elaborar estrategias y establecer redes,  manteniendo al mismo tiempo un enfoque vigilante interseccional en la justicia racial, social, económica y ambiental.
