Who We Are

GreenLatinos convenes an active comunidad of Latino/a/e leaders, emboldened by the power and wisdom of our culture, united to demand equity and dismantle racism, resourced to win our environmental, conservation, and climate justice battles, and driven to secure our political, economic, cultural, and environmental liberation. We envision a healthy and equitable society where communities of color are liberated from disproportionate environmental burdens, free to breathe fresh air, drink pure water, access clean transportation, and enjoy our majestic public lands, ocean, and waters.

Becoming a GreenLatinos member

In 2022, we formalized our new membership options to offer more support, services, and opportunities to active and engaged leaders in the movement. Whether you are new to GreenLatinos or have been connected to us for years, we would love for you to make it official and become a GreenLatinos member today! By becoming a GreenLatinos member, you will have access to all our resources to engage and support this work.

Membership with GreenLatinos is about community, connection and support

Our members make it possible to grow this movement together. Being a member involves sharing your time, lived experience, and expertise with the growing network to ensure we can create a collective impact. Together, We are stronger.

If you are a Latino/a/e advocate, leader, or organization working to dismantle racism, demand equity, or fight for a cleaner and more just environment para nuestras comunidades, we invite you to join our membership comunidad.

You don't have to identify as Latino/a/e to join us! If you or your organization believe in or are working to support Latino/a/e people in their fight for justice and environmental liberation, we invite you to become an ally member.

Your membership includes access to opportunities to take action, events, and resources, and helps us to continue our mission to fight for environmental liberation.!

Membership Benefits

One of the biggest benefits of being a GreenLatinos member is supporting our work and our other members' work. Some other benefits include:
  • Becoming a part of the GreenLatinos comunidad to connect, collaborate, and contribute to the growing resources to support our community in our fight towards environmental liberation.
  • Exclusive access to an internal job board to post and view career opportunities en comunidad with other GreenLatinos members, member organizations and allies.
  • Opportunities to amplify and find support for your work and build your network through our exclusive membership communication channels.
  • Access to a digital library of research, resources, and press releases featuring policy-level insights on particular issues from our team of experts and resources shared from our broad network of members.
  • Contribute to an internal resume bank to post and view resumes so we can share our expertise for the benefit of our communities and for those looking to connect with someone with our skills and professional experience.
  • Unite with other members in your region through our members-only calendar - share your events, encuentros and convenings and be the first to know about GreenLatinos opportunities to connect.
  • Invitations to participate in exclusive training opportunities and access to policy focused and regionally focused encuentros
    First access and priority to scholarship opportunities for our annual National Summit and National Advocacy Fly-In.
  • Direct announcements of grants available through our Justicia y Equidad Fund, regranting millions of dollars to support grassroots work in climate, conservation, and environmental justice in our communities.
  • Invitations for direct action through GreenLatinos advocacy campaigns and national calls to action.
  • Updates on the movement toward environmental liberation through newsletters from our team.
  • Access to a members-only section of our online merchandise store - be the first to rep GreenLatinos in your community!

Membership Levels

All memberships renew annually.
We acknowledge that some people do not have the economic means to support GreenLatinos financially. We offer a sliding-scale annual membership to ensure that cost does not limit anyone's ability to be an active community member. Please select the membership contribution that best matches your situation.

If you regularly feel economic stress over meeting your or your family's basic needs, please become a Protector member. We welcome you and appreciate that the investment of your time is the most valuable part of your contribution to GreenLatinos. Your participation and input will increase the value of our organization.

Comunidad Leader

At this level, if you can meet their basic needs but have very limited disposable income, a Comunidad Leader may decide to contribute at this rate

Madre Tierra Defender

At this level, a Madre Tierra Defender may decide to contribute at this rate if they have sufficient resources to comfortably meet their financial needs.

Environmental Liberation Supporter

100

At this level, an Environmental Liberation Supporting member may decide to contribute at this rate if they are financially secure, can pay freely for “wants,” or have the support from your work or organization to participate.

Protector

0

We acknowledge that some organizations do not have the economic means to support GreenLatinos financially. We do not want the cost to limit any organization's ability to be an active community member. Please become an organizational member for free if you regularly feel economic stress over meeting your or your organization's basic needs. Comunidad Leader

At this level, a Comunidad Leader Organization may decide to contribute at this rate if they can meet your basic organizational needs but have a limited disposable budget.

Madre Tierra Defender

At this level, a Madre Tierra Defender Organization may decide to contribute at this rate if they have sufficient resources to comfortably meet the financial needs of their organization.

Environmental Liberation Supporter

At this level, an Environmental Liberation Supporting Organization may decide to contribute at this rate if they are financially secure, can pay freely for “wants,” or have the budget to participate.

Are you interested in joining a Colectivo?

GreenLatinos works in coordination with its members through our colectivos and state-specific programs. GreenLatinos Colectivos create community and a sense of familia to build partnerships, share information, resources, access, actions, and ways to get involved in your policy or state focus areas.

This collective is a space where everyone can share their work en comunidad.By joining a colectivo and/or a state program, you will join a growing network of individuals working on similar issues to secure environmental liberation for our comunidades.
