Orson Aguilar

UnidosUS Principal of Policy and Advocacy

Orson Aguilar is Principal of the Office of Policy and Advocacy at UnidosUS (formerly National Council of La Raza). In his role as Principal, Orson oversees the department’s Economic Policy Project, setting the overall strategy and goals to advance research, policy, and legislative agendas on Capitol Hill and in the state houses. His background is deep in the areas of Latino economic policy, income security, and wealth building.

Prior to joining UnidosUS, Mr. Aguilar served as the President of the Greenlining Institute, a policy, research, organizing, and leadership institute working for racial and economic justice. Orson worked to connect community leaders with policymakers, researchers, and private sector leaders, designing and supporting policies that open doors to opportunity. Mr. Aguilar received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California at Santa Cruz. He received his master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Texas, LBJ School of Public Affairs.
