GreenLatinos Applauds the Appointment of Brenda Mallory to CEQ

Washington D.C. - GreenLatinos applauds the appointment of Brenda Mallory to run the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ), the White House office charged with coordinating environmental programs and initiatives across the federal government. CEQ also oversees permits for all major infrastructure projects, such as pipelines and highways. Mallory is leading the charge in ensuring environmental justice remains central to Biden’s climate agenda and will work to foster collaboration between all levels of the federal government to protect our climate, air, water, and public health.

Mark Magaña, Founding President & CEO of GreenLatinos, released the following statement regarding this critical appointment:

GreenLatinos is thrilled by this appointment. Mallory is a climate expert and visionary with a wealth of experience that will assist her in succeeding at CEQ. We have been impressed by her years of service at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and as former general counsel for CEQ. We know she will hit the ground running. The Latino community needs her leadership, as we continue to look for ways to recover in the face of the last four years of unprecedented environmental degradation. We look forward to working with Mallory to continue the fight for our community’s environmental liberation.

GreenLatinos is a national non-profit organization that convenes a broad coalition of Latino leaders committed to addressing national, regional, and local environmental, natural resources, and conservation issues that significantly affect the health and welfare of the Latino community in the United States.
