Colaborativo40 Campaign Director

Joan Kato is a highly experienced environmental justice advocate known for her two decades of work in marginalized communities of color, grants management, and leading large-scale voter registration efforts. She has also excelled in government contracting, strategic communications, and change management. As a consultant at GreenLatinos, she initiated Colaborativo40, promoting federal grant opportunities for major Latinx organizations. Joan is the founder of Everyday Voters, a firm specializing in community engagement and grant advisory services. With a diverse career background, including Capitol Hill, candidate campaigns, and work as a Foreign Service Officer for the U.S. Department of State, Joan brings a wealth of expertise to the table. She is multilingual, speaking Spanish, Vietnamese, and Bahasa Indonesian.
