GreenLatinos Community Agreements

We are all in this together to create a welcoming and restorative environment. Give grace to yourself and to others by treating everyone with dignity and honoring boundaries and requests. Healthy respectful debates are natural, stay curious and open to what people are saying. Acknowledge when your actions have caused an unintended impact and tend to your impact. It’s everyone’s responsibility to make sure we all feel safe and respected here.
Speak up when appropriate, practice active listening and be curious. Have the self awareness to recognize who is dominating the conversation, gender roles, hierarchies and take the time to hear from less-heard voices. Respect others’ time. Know when to step in and step back.
Be your awesome self and know that you belong here. Authentic, expressive discussions make communities great. We speak for ourselves. Ask questions and ask for anything you need. Take care of yourself and take any breaks you need along the way.
When possible, be open to meeting new people and stay curious and open to what people do and say. Value your emotional response to things and make space for the emotional responses of others. Revisit conversations that are left unresolved or unsatisfactory, and seek guidance when needed. Communicate with intention and respect and receive feedback with an open heart and mind.
Participants are free to carry the information received with them, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed unless the speaker states that what they have shared is cleared to be shared outside of the community space in which it was given.
We value our speakers and sessions and ask that we show respect to one another by being intentionally present in the sessions you attend. If you need to use your laptop or phone, excuse yourself and tend to your needs, then return when you are done. We hope this time together will transform and inspire you.
