Meet the Team

Amanda Pantoja

Urban Greening Initiative Coordinator

Amanda was born and raised in Southeast Los Angeles and has been a dedicated advocate for environmental justice for nearly 8 years. She is passionate about creating healthy environments because they lay the foundation for healthy communities. She attended the University of California, Santa Barbara where she studied Environmental Studies and became the first in her family to graduate college. After college, Amanda led organizing efforts in South Los Angeles to transition the city of Los Angeles to 100% clean energy by 2030. Amanda has conducted research on topics such as urban infrastructure inequality, indigenous climate policy, and equity in nature-based solutions. Amanda previously worked as an Executive Fellow for the Governor's Office Senior Climate Advisor where she worked with governmental agencies and stakeholders to finalize the extreme heat and nature-based solutions portions of the California Climate Budget.

Amanda is currently getting her Master’s in Public Policy at the University of Southern California. In her free time, she enjoys thrifting, exploring neighborhood parks, and getting lost in DIY projects.
