Join the Sonoma County Regional Parks team as a Senior Parks and Grounds Maintenance Worker!

 

Starting salary at $28.57/hour ($59,629/year), plus a cash allowance of $600/month, and a competitive total compensation package!

 

As a Senior Parks and Grounds Maintenance Worker, you will lead Parks and Grounds Maintenance Worker I/IIs in projects and preventative/routine park maintenance, identify project and preventative/routine maintenance needs, work directly with the supervisor to prioritize projects.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the supervisor with scheduling, coaching, and leading staff
  • Make decisions in the field, problem-solve staffing issues, and provide on-going updates to the supervisor
  • Track work orders for completion, following up with staff and the supervisor
  • Complete projects with deadlines, updating the supervisor of any changes
  • Create and assign work orders in MaintainX, the department’s maintenance management system

Successful candidates will have experience leading construction projects and/or maintenance programs, and possess the ability to:

  • Communicate effectively and timely in both written and oral form
  • Listen effectively to understand others’ points of view
  • Respond to written, hone, and electronic inquiries in a timely manner
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize work within set deadlines
  • Complete tasks with minimal supervision and guidance
  • Research resources for answers
  • Train staff in preventative maintenance, pre-trip inspections, troubleshooting, and routine repairs
  • Work effectively with computer systems for the purpose of writing reports, entering data, and tracking information

Please Note: Possession of a Water Treatment Operator (T1) certification issued by the California State Water Resources Control Board must be obtained within the six (6) month probationary period.

 

It is also highly desirable that candidates have one or more of the following certifications:

  • Arborist certificate
  • Certified Pool Operator
  • General Contractor’s License/Certificate
  • Landscape Contractor’s License/Certificate
  • Pesticide Applicator’s Certificate
  • Playground Safety Inspector
