Start Date: Ideally June 12, 2023 (flexibility may be available)

Estimated End Date: September 1, 2023 (or 12 weeks from start date)

Location: The Cape Cod National Seashore is located in Wellfleet, MA.

Position Overview: The ACE Member will work under the supervision of a biological technician. They will follow instructions and standardized procedures for collecting and managing field data and ensure a high level of quality control of the data collected. The data collection will include, but may not be limited to, vegetation and soil sampling in a variety of salt marsh habitats. The ACE Member will also participate in routine natural resource management activities ongoing at the Seashore. Other activities include basic soil processing and assisting the biological technician with an end-of-season report and recommendations.

Living Allowance: The ACE Member is expected to contribute ~40 hours/week and will receive a living allowance of $300/week to offset the costs of food and incidental expenses, dispersed bi-weekly.

AmeriCorps Education Award Program (EAP) & Loan Forbearance: This position may be eligible for a 450-hour AmeriCorps Education Award while serving under the EAP 2022/23 grant year program, valued up to $1,718.25 upon successful completion of a complete serve term and 450 hours. AmeriCorps members may also be eligible for federal loan forbearance. Additional enrollment steps are required.

Housing: ACE members will be accommodated in provided park housing at no cost for the duration of the term.

Reimbursable Relocation Allowance: ACE members will have access to a $150.00 reimbursable relocation allowance ($75.00 disbursed at the beginning and $75.00 disbursed at the end of the term). Further details regarding distribution of these funds will be provided during the interview process.
