About the role

We are looking for a creative and entrepreneurial Programming and Marketing Associate to join our small, high-performing team. Successful candidates will be self-starters excited about co-creating and helping us strengthen our marketing, events and information resources. Responsibilities include implementing and consistently evolving our company strategies; effectively managing our presence on multiple communications channels, and assisting in implementing high-quality, engaging events and content.

A passion for sustainability is a must, and familiarity with circular and regenerative practices in furniture and design is a plus. This role reports to the Chief Operating and Sustainability Officer. Candidates must have U.S. work authorization.

Key responsibilities

  • Support planning, timelines, content prep and general execution of information resources and dynamic virtual and in-person events and activations, from early ideation to research to content-creation to post-event follow-up
    • Create and monitor project timelines
    • Coordinate and assist speakers, partners and sponsors in developing and delivering effective content
    • Research and develop framing and content for events and other resources
    • Create engaging event collateral and marketing materials
    • Develop and implement project outreach strategy
    • Manage registrations, registration platforms, attendees and virtual event technology
    • Provide additional logistical and administrative support for projects as needed
  • Lead implementation of communications and digital marketing initiatives
    • Help develop and implement integrated digital marketing strategy across platforms
    • Create and manage monthly digital marketing calendar
    • Develop, produce and manage monthly newsletter and email campaigns
    • Support design and creation of engaging social media posts and community interaction
    • Support website and blog maintenance
    • Systematically track outcomes of digital marketing to ensure goals are being achieved
    • Monitor online presence to ensure website and social media profiles are aligned with company mission and design ethos
    • Ensure brand guidelines are being adhered to
  • Assist in day-to-day administration and operations
    • Maintain and manage the organization’s contact databases
    • Support, maintain and enhance relationships with community partners, sponsors, consultants and peers
    • Help to provide timely responses to inquiries and correspondences

Required skills and attributes

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to thrive in a small, dynamic, highly collaborative environment
  • Results-oriented team player with a good sense of humor
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and skilled copy editor
  • Creative with a strong eye for good design
  • Skilled in social media as a marketing and outreach tool; specifically, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite (including Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Desire to take ownership of work and lead new initiatives
  • Commitment to sustainability, environmental justice, diversity, equity and inclusion
  • 2-3 years of related experience in similar roles and / or industry
  • Holds or pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in design, sustainability, marketing or related fields -- we appreciate transferable skill sets
