The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) is a Department of the City and County of San Francisco and consists of three essential service utilities: Water, Power, and Sewer. We are the third largest public utility in California, working in eight California counties, with a combined annual operating and capital budget of nearly $2 billion.

The Policy and Government Affairs Analyst will provide both analytical and administrative support for policy and government affairs work, particularly at the state and federal levels. This position will support SFPUC’s public policy and political strategy work related to water, wastewater, power, infrastructure, and related issues by coordinating an agency wide review process for proposed legislation; organizing and translating large amounts of technical information to produce concise policy materials such as talking points and position letters on proposed legislation; and working with a broad array of internal and external stakeholders to help advance SFPUC policy priorities. SFPUC Policy and Government Affairs team members must work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, often managing complex and impactful policy issues and projects with multiple moving parts. In order to be successful, this position must constantly prioritize among many issues and associated tasks; problem solve and demonstrate initiative; and communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.

This is a full-time position based in San Francisco though we are currently working remote. Salary range for this position is between $86,684-$105,378 annually.

Applications for this position go to a general pool for multiple openings at the SFPUC. Apply here ASAP but no later than June 16th:
