POSITION SUMMARY

This newly created position, Philanthropy Operations Specialist, will provide key assistance in data maintenance and integrity. Working under the direct supervision of the Director of Philanthropy Operations, this position will focus on data entry and data cleanup, and participate in the stewardship of more than 20,000 active donors.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Entering and processing donations in CRM database

- Reviewing caging company files for accuracy and quality control

- Assisting with data cleanup

- Pulling queries and reports

- Responding to general donor inquiries via phone and email

- Providing certificates for Gifts of Trees and Memorial Trees

- Assisting with in-house mailing, filing and scanning as needed

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Candidate must have excellent organizational skills, keen attention to detail, experience with CRM database technology (Raiser’s Edge/Luminate preferred), firm understanding of Boolean logic, proficiency with Microsoft Office (including advanced knowledge of Excel functions and formulas), and a passion for environmental causes. In addition, candidate will have experience processing and importing caging files with 100% accuracy.

 

REQUISITE EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree or at least four years of directly related experience.

 

LOCATION & WORKING CONDITIONS

American Forests’ headquarters is in downtown Washington, D.C., walkable to multiple Metrorail and Metrobus lines as well as Capital Bikeshare docks. This position can be fully remote or based in Washington, D.C.
