DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Recreation and Parks, Bureau of Natural and Cultural Resources (BNCR) is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated individual with State contract management experience to join our fast-paced team that helps oversee and plan resource management projects state-wide. BNCR is part of the Florida Park Service, recently recognized for the fourth time as the best state park system in the United States. The Bureau is charged with assisting with natural and cultural resource management for all 175 state parks and state trails in accordance with the Florida Park Service mission “To provide resourced based recreation while preserving, interpreting, and restoring natural and cultural resources.”
The primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: the procurement of professional services contracts, which includes drafting scopes of work for solicitations; processing contracts, amendments, task assignments, and other contractual documents; contract management including tracking project milestones; working with project managers and private sector companies to ensure an effective and efficient contracting process. Success in this position requires a dynamic individual capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and quickly adapting to change. Insurance benefits are available for this position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION: Knowledge of: contract management, invoicing and administration processes; natural resource land management. (Training in State of Florida contract management will be provided, if needed, for the identified candidate.) Skilled in: Microsoft Office Suite; time management; organization; and process management. Ability to: take the lead on assignments and responsibilities; communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; work well with others and individually; maintain a positive, can-do attitude; produce timely and effective results; provide quality solutions; apply problem solving techniques; document work flow and other activities relating to process improvement; organize and coordinate work assignments; maintain a valid driver’s license.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR THE POSITION:
State of Florida contract management law, invoicing and administration processes; State of Florida procurement and contract solicitation processes, including applicable Florida statutes and rules and 1+ years of direct experience.
