About the job
The Women, Food and Agriculture Network is now accepting applications for our mentorship program, Harvesting Our Potential. This program matches women identifying and non-binary individuals who are interested in starting or expanding careers in farming and sustainable agriculture with experienced farm mentors. Currently we have opportunities in Iowa and Ohio, with the potential to host mentorships in other midwestern states. Mentorships can be on farm or virtual.
We also offer skill building mentorships, which are opportunities for existing farmers who are wanting to grow their enterprise or gain new skills to enhance their farm business.
Mentees will work directly with a farmer instructor to gain hands-on experience. Mentorships will range in length during the growing season depending on the mentee goals. In addition to the one-on-one mentorships, there will be a mid-season virtual mentee retreat and other networking events, at dates and times to be determined. Both mentors and mentees will also be asked to provide mid-season and post-season reviews and a stipend will be paid to each mentee and mentor by WFAN to participate in all aspects of the program.
