Oceana’s IT department is looking for someone to assist with day-to-day computer support and provide Tier I global support to ensure user needs are being met.
This position reports to the Director, IT Infrastructure while assisting the IT Team with Tier I tasks including, but not limited to: Workstation setup, new employee orientations, conference room set up, printer troubleshooting, laptop re-imaging, software installation, password reset and creating user guides. The IT Helpdesk Intern will receive constant hands-on training and experience to perform their job responsibilities. This is a 6-month paid internship based in Washington, DC.
The ideal candidate is anticipating or has recently received a bachelor’s degree in the IT field, or certification program in IT or Cybersecurity. Required competencies for this position are resourcefulness, action oriented, instills trust, customer focused and easily adapts to technology changes.

Oceana's US offices have operated on a hybrid schedule and staff have been required to work from their assigned office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. With agreement between the employee and their supervisor, the employee may work from home Monday and Friday. Oceana continually evaluates safety protocols and updates our practices on an ongoing basis based on the CDC community level color coding system of green, yellow and red.
