Join our team of dynamic natural resource professionals. The Edinburg Scenic Wetlands and World Birding Center is seeking applicants for the lead Interpretive Naturalist position. This supervisory position is responsible for leading bird and butterfly walks, outdoor skills programs, and group tours. The position also assists the education team with school field trips. In addition, this position is responsible for recording wildlife observations, providing an interpretation of natural resources to EWBC visitors and guests, providing a high level of customer service, and assisting with marketing efforts of programs, including social media management. Located in the Rio Grande Valley, one of the premier birding destinations in the country, EWBC is seeking a qualified applicant with educational or work experience in wildlife biology, environmental science, natural resource interpretation, or a related field. Applicants must be familiar with South Texas wildlife, and able to identify local birds, butterflies, and plants. Also seeking candidates with a background in interpretation and/or environmental education. The ability to speak Spanish is preferred, but not required.
