The Nature Conservancy in Indiana is seeking a Finance Assistant to join our Finance Team as they provide specialized accounting services and support. They perform finance-related administrative tasks, including accounts payable, cash receipt, contract support, processing forms, and tracking through a variety of reports. They have expertise in day-to-day transaction review, coding accuracy, and creating custom reports as needed and are well versed in the financial systems utilized by the team and Conservancy to process transactions and complete tasks. While knowledge of day-to-day financial operations is key for the position, strong customer service is also essential. The Finance Assistant provides guidance and supports team members in their understanding of financial policies and procedures; communicates with vendors and staff in various programs across the Conservancy. They are proactive, responsive, and consider the wider operations of the business unit when making decisions and take on special assignments as identified.

 

The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree in accounting or similar field and 2 years' related work experience (or equivalent combination); a background working with basic accounting principles or analyzing financial figures; and be familiar with using spreadsheets, producing reports, and interpreting data. They will be detailed oriented, deadline driven, and well organized; communicate clearly with a wide range of people; develop productive working relationships, and practice discretion and sensitivity handling confidential information.

 

This is a full-time position located at the Efroymson Conservation Center in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. It includes a competitive benefits package and a compensation range that begins at $42,800 based on an hourly rate and experience.
