To advance our mission, we are seeking a full-time Analyst to support the Federation’s Individual Philanthropy team. A primary area of focus for this position is centered around gift processing for the Federation’s individual giving programs. This role will be central to providing both timely and accurate processing of VIP gifts as well as the critical coordination of meaningful acknowledgements.

In addition to gift processing, this position will play a crucial role in coordinating prospect development conversation amongst team leads.

They will use data to inform prospect development efforts and elevate awareness around key donor segments with whom the Federation should prioritize relationship building.


This position will assist with CRM support ensuring accurate recording of donor information, interactions and research. They will be trained to execute portfolio style research as needed to gain insight into donor motivations and aid officers is specific outreach efforts.


Tasks include but are not limited to the implementation of strategies to help acquire, retain, and steward donors; serve as a frontline resource for donor inquiries and outreach, and; ensure health and integrity of donor data across the Federation’s donor management systems.


In this role, you will:


Gift Processing & Receipting


  • Serves as lead gift processor for individual giving, to include processing and acknowledgement of both restricted and unrestricted contributions.
  • Works with Philanthropy Operations & Finance teams to ensure contributions deployed across the organization mirror the donor’s intent.
  • Coordinate tailored recognition efforts needed from Chief Development Officer, Office of the President and other relationship managers to increase stewardship at critical points within the donor giving cycle.
  • Assist in the creation, updating and personalization of Federation benefit packages, surveys and other donor driven pieces central to bettering the member experience.


Data Management, Reporting, Research & Analysis


  • Ensures accurate recording of gifts in the system and that the moves management cycles are executed.
  • Effectively tracks and manages opportunities within the CRM system to monitor and report for team leads at designated intervals.
  • Leverages and/or deploys additive research, gathers personal interactions, and other insights within CRM to help to qualify donors for engagement opportunities with officers.
  • Maintains constituent profiles and accurately enters demographic information, contact reports, and various moves management relating to donor qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, performing these and other CRM-related functions with accuracy, regularity, and consistency.
  • Uses data analysis and standardized reports to inform leadership’s efforts to monitor and evaluate portfolio management, strategy implementation, revenue generation, and resource deployment.


Shared Engagement Efforts


  • Collaborates with various business units, program leads, and agency partners regularly, helping to ensure our teams are communicating and collaborating effectively.
  • Attend and contribute to content planning meetings to effectively build understanding of donor strategies and communications.
  • Build understanding of content generation, internal review, production, and delivery of various direct marketing packages, solicitations, and fundraising appeals to serve as back up to donor relations team as needed.
  • Coordinate monthly portfolio snapshot meetings with team leads to foster awareness of potential revenues throughout the year.




  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure by prioritizing and managing multiple tasks and competing deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication and editing skills; proven capabilities to draft correspondence, reports, and other written communications in a clear and professional manner.
  • Proven record of using data to make informed business decisions.
  • Passion for the preservation and protection of wildlife and wild places a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required. Familiarity with CRM and other fundraising and research software preferred.
  • 2+ years of professional experience preferred, ideally in a non-profit setting.

Location and Work Mode:


This position is based out of our Headquarters in Reston, VA. The National Wildlife Federation is committed to a flexible and empowered work environment with an authentic community of care for all staff. This position is hybrid, though the ability to design a partially remote schedule is available, to be decided jointly with their supervisor in the final stages of the interview process.


Compensation and Benefits:


The salary range for this position is $55,000-$65,000, commensurate with experience.
