Position Summary
This position will be responsible for producing reporting and analytics for the Development department. The specialist will work with Development stakeholders and the IT CRM Data Infrastructure team to solicit business requirements to implement data visualization reporting solutions and data insights on Salesforce and Tableau, performing deep and insightful analysis, articulating results, and providing actionable data driven recommendations to Development leadership and others across the department and the organization.

The specialist will also contribute to the implementation of data standards and best practices that will ensure data integrity within Salesforce to fully optimize our revenue, prospect research, and moves management processes by working with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to Finance, CRM, IT, implementation consultants, and managed services providers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for complex reporting, data visualization, and analysis for Development department using Salesforce, Tableau, SQL, Apsona, and our data warehouse, Snowflake
  • Develop and maintain oversight of data architecture modeling that supports complex reporting functions and data visualizations
  • Forecast revenue using Tableau predictive analytics, creating regular reporting for Development and Organizational Leadership to review on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Track industry analytics to benchmark against
  • Develop interactive dashboards that effectively communicate fundraising performance and moves management related data including prospecting pipeline
  • Articulate analysis, including interpretation and presentation of data, to all levels of management and staff
  • Provide a timely response to internal cases and other user requests for reporting needs
  • Build strong and effective relationships with Development leadership and other stakeholders. Act as the point of contact for reporting and analytics projects, working collaboratively to build and support business process and related functionality
  • Perform data integrity reporting to identify and resolve root cause data quality and process issues
  • Write and maintain robust documentation of all data processes, models, and workflows.
  • Train teams on Tableau and help to build broader knowledge base across department by teaching users and documenting use cases
  • Other duties as assigned
  • No direct people management, however, it is expected that this role will collaborate and serve as a leader within the team and educate colleagues and stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • At least 5+ years related nonprofit development experience required
  • Salesforce expertise and administrator certification required
  • Expertise and 5+ years of experience in Tableau, analytics, and data visualization and presentation required
  • Experience in writing and optimizing SQL queries using Enterprise databases like PostgreSQL, SQL Server required
  • Advanced Excel and Powerpoint or similar, Lucidchart, Visio, required
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, Google Docs, Quip preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • Training and documentation experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate data analysis, project and technical details to stakeholders, senior management, and other technical teams
  • Expert business and data analysis skills
  • Expert ability to draw concise, well supported recommendations based on detailed analysis of a given issue
  • Knowledge of nonprofit Development practices and moves management terminology
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of nonprofit finance as it relates to fundraising tracking and reporting
