Here\u2019s what that funding could be used for instead:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cleared backlog of $41 billion<\/strong>: invest in long-term stewardship of<a href=\"https:\/\/www.outdooralliance.org\/blog\/2025\/9\/16\/legacy-restoration-fund-expires-at-the-end-of-september-with-maintenance-backlog-growing?emci=2f1c0fb1-f101-f111-832f-000d3a1f0e4c&amp;emdi=ea000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000001&amp;ceid={{ContactsEmailID}}\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">\u00a0all public lands<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Healthy parks &amp; coasts in our children's futures for $18 billion:<\/strong>\u00a0boost national park, seashore, and refuge endurance in Puerto Rico, Guam, USVI, CNMI, American Samoa, and complete frontline ecosystem restoration projects nationwide.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Indigenize with\u00a0$7 billion:<\/strong>\u00a0enhance Tribal co-management, cultural resource stewardship, administrative capacity and programming power.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Equal access with $4 billion<\/strong>: expand transit from cities and gateway communities, assure ADA compliance, purchase access easements, waive entry fees, provide multilingual interpretation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Workforce for $5 billion<\/strong>: hire &amp; raise pay and benefits for civil servants; expand youth, tribal and climate corps; augment workforce training, professional development opportunities.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There is more than enough to go around for our communities. Congress has&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/119th-congress\/house-bill\/4?emci=2f1c0fb1-f101-f111-832f-000d3a1f0e4c&amp;emdi=ea000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000001&amp;ceid={{ContactsEmailID}}\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">rescinded&nbsp;<\/a>appropriated funding before; they have the ability to do it again. This could be America\u2019s next best idea!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>H.R. 1 asign\u00f3&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/democrats-appropriations.house.gov\/news\/press-releases\/appropriations-committees-release-homeland-security-funding-bill?emci=2f1c0fb1-f101-f111-832f-000d3a1f0e4c&amp;emdi=ea000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000001&amp;ceid={{ContactsEmailID}}\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">$75 mil<\/a>&nbsp;milones para ICE. Impulsar la resistencia de parques y refugios en Puerto Rico, Guam, USVI, CNMI, Samoa Americana, y completar restauraciones de ecosistemas de primera l\u00ednea a nivel nacional.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em><strong>Indigenizar<\/strong>\u00a0el sistema con\u00a0<strong>$7 mil millones<\/strong>. Mejorar la co-gesti\u00f3n tribal, la gesti\u00f3n de recursos culturales y recreativos, la capacidad administrativa y de programaci\u00f3n.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em><strong>Lograr acceso igualitario<\/strong>\u00a0estafa\u00a0<strong>$4 mil millones<\/strong>.
