GreenLatinos Fights For Inclusion Of Electric Vehicles In Reconciliation with Politico Advertisement

Colorado - GreenLatinos  believes that everyone should reap the benefits of electric vehicles.  The Latino community overwhelmingly benefits from the reduction in  carbon pollution that comes from the increase in electric vehicle usage.  We know that our communities suffer from climate degradation that is  why we placed this advertisement in Politico.

Mark Magana, released the following statement in response to the placement of the advertisement.:

Congress is in the midst of negotiating a once in a  lifetime intervention on climate, the Latino community cannot be left  behind. We must have a robust investment in developing access to  electric vehicles. This is critical to reducing carbon emissions and  fighting the devastating effects of climate change on the Latino  community.

Andrea Marpillero-Colomina also released the following statement in response to the placement in Politico.:

EVs have the potential to  transform our transportation landscape. We need public investment that  makes clean cars accessible for everyone on the road and moves the U.S.  toward achieving energy and climate justice, by improving air quality  and access for Latino and all communities disproportionately burdened by  fossil fuel pollution.

Clean transportation infrastructure that is accessible  offers vast potential to significantly improve health and well-being  for all people, particularly Latino communities, who bear  disproportionate burdens of tailpipe pollution and extreme climate  events.

We know that developing paths to access electric cars  and chargers is crucial to delivering clean air, cost savings, and a  healthier climate to all communities, including Latino families,  throughout the country. Learn more about our call to invest in equitable  access to electric vehicles.

GreenLatinos is an active comunidad  of Latino/a/x leaders, emboldened by the power and wisdom of our  culture, united to demand equity and dismantle racism, resourced to win  our environmental, conservation, and climate justice battles, and driven  to secure our political, economic, cultural, and environmental  liberation.
