National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), a 100-year old nonprofit advocacy organization, is seeking a communications professional to protect and enhance America’s national parks.
As part of the Government Affairs department, the Program Manager will provide top quality research and analysis of existing and proposed legislation and administrative policy related to energy development and the impacts of climate change on the National Park System. The Program Manager will focus on the impacts of oil, gas and other natural resource extraction activities both on public lands and in public waters that may affect national park resources (natural or cultural). Additionally, the Program Manager will provide policy support to NPCA’s Clean Air team to ensure cooperation between energy, clean air goals and climate mitigation and resilience. Finally, the position will provide additional policy support to the Government Affairs department, regional and conservation programs staff on natural resource and conservation issues, as needed. The Program Manager will also work as manager of the National Parks Action Fund and manage NPCA’s Friend of the National Parks Award.
