The Northeast office of the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) is seeking a motivated and collaborative manager with skills to manage programs to protect national parks, connect people to these treasured places, and influence key political targets. The Northeast Program Manager will work under the direction of the Regional Director and with teammates to expand NPCA’s influence in a diverse region, home to significant historical and natural resource-based national parks. A wide variety of environmental, urban, coastal, cultural, historic, social, financial and recreational challenges are inherent to most of NPCA’s Northeast campaigns and programs.
The Northeast Program Manager will primarily execute programs for national parks in New Jersey, New York City, and New York State. Responsibilities include managing significant parts of NPCA’s program for Stonewall National Monument, the first and only national park site dedicated to the interpretation of LGBTQ history, to ensure Stonewall National Monument is protected and provides inspiring opportunities for visitors. Manage significant parts of NPCA’s programs for protecting the Delaware River, a river which supplies drinking water to approximately 5% of the total population of the U.S. Assist in growing a network of park advocates and partners who will advocate on behalf of the national parks in the region and nationally. Maintain and expand relationships with key political targets and congressional district offices. Monitor threats to wildlife, water, land, forests, wetlands, and salt marshes, as well as cultural and historic resources, in and around Northeast national parks. Work with teammates to execute events and programs that attract urban and diverse national park supporters to Northeast national parks.
