GreenLatinos is happy to be accepting nominations from our members, network, allies, and communities for the 2019 GreenLatinos Awards. Nominations will be accepted through Friday, August 09, 2019.
We are accepting nominations for the following award categories:
Living Legacy Award:
Reserved for individuals who have committed their lives and careers (more than 10 years) to environmental and conservation issues. They have demonstrated the highest levels of leadership and commitment in advancing the Latino community in the environmental and conservation field.
Past awardees include: Robert Garcia, Founding President & Counsel, The City Project Los Angeles
Champion Advocate:
Reserved for an elected official (local, state, federal) who have demonstrated leadership and commitment to environment and conservation issues through their careers.
Past awardees include: U.S. Senator Tom Udall, New Mexico
Community Advocate Award:
Reserved for an GreenLatinos Member who have demonstrated leadership and commitment to assisting communities engage in environment and conservation issues.
Past awardees include: Johana Vicente, Maryland Chispa
Emerging Leader Award:
Reserved for a young individual between the ages of 15 - 28 who has demonstrated leadership, activism, and commitment to advancing Latino priorities in the environment and conservation field.
Past Awardees include: Yvette Arellano, T.E.J.A.S.
Compañer@ Award:
Reserved for individuals or organizations that have demonstrated commitment to serve as allies to the Latino community in our fight for equity, justice, and inclusion. This award is not limited to environmental and conservation based work.
Past awardees include: Earthjustice & Hispanic Federation
