GreenLatinos held the first national gathering of Latino Environment and Conservation Advocates May 8-10, 2014  at the National Conservation Training Center (NCTC) in Shepherdstown, WV. The inaugural summit  brought together Latino environmental and conservation advocates from across the country for the first time, the GreenLatinos retreat provided a unique opportunity for leaders to become acquainted and find ways to work in coalition on the common cause of advancing an environmental agenda for the benefit of our communities.  

The summit was an opportunity to:

>> Meet and get to know each other in person in an effort to establish trust & build relationships

>> Establish a GreenLatinos agenda including priorities, goals, strategies and tactics.

>> Explore ways to work in coalition through GreenLatinos


Over 75 representatives including the following attended:

>> Latino Environmental/Conservation Advocates

>> Staff from National Latino Organizations

>> Staff from National Green Groups

>> Latinos in Federal, State, County, Municipal Government Environmental/Conservation roles

>> Other interested parties
