Policy & Communications Coordinator

Office Location: Golden, CO

Status: Full Time, Salary, Exempt

Start Date: ASAP or January 1, 2019

Supervisor: Executive Director

Supervisory Responsibility: Yes

The Policy & Communications Coordinator will work with the Executive Director to develop and refine Trail Policy and to build grassroots, stakeholder and political support for the CDT throughout the Rocky Mountain region and beyond. This work will complement the legal and policy work of the Executive Director. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: researching and developing policy statements for management and administration of the CDT; analyzing policy proposals that may affect the CDT, including forest plans, state and federal laws, agency management directives, etc. and crafting CDTC responses; participating in coalition building work; assisting with the CDTC Trails and Lands Committee; communicating CDTC priorities, successes, and needs to the public; and building support for the CDT and CDTC initiatives via various communication channels. The Policy & Communications Coordinator will leverage opportunities as they arise to educate the broad range of CDTC stakeholders, including federal and state agencies, various communities, other partner non-profits, members, supporters, and the general public.
